2. Volunteer Positions Below are the Volunteer Positions that are available. Please select which positions you may be interested in. |

|
Infrastructure Design and Construction and Cat Crew: |
|
| Volunteers will build/construct the buoy lines and the overhead markers. They will re-paint signs and equipment, ensure that docks and boathouses are in good repair and manage the placement of gates and fences. Volunteers will also ensure rental docks and ramps are in place. | |
|
Island Facilities: |
|
|
Volunteers will ensure proper set-up and running of volunteer registration/welcome booth and the main tent. Volunteers will be responsible for the management of the boathouse changeroom: bathroom, shower, etc. and security on the premises.
Volunteers will be responsible for the coordination and communication at tourism booth, including: translation, directions, distribution of general information on the Niagara Region. Volunteers will assist with the continual dredging leading up to event, the discarding of dredged waste, and other tasks as required. |

Camping Area: |
|
| Volunteers will monitor and secure the entire camping area (including RV area and the main pathway down to the lower island). They will be responsible for enforcing rules and regulations of the camping area: no pets, no fires, etc. Volunteers will be responsible for the upkeep of the garbage and port-a-potty areas. | |
|
Boat Traffic/Results: |
|
|
Volunteers will be responsible for filling in areas of dock control, traffic management, course marshalling, when FISA and local jury members are unavailable to do so.
Volunteers will ensure the proper entry of data/results and the proper posting and announcing of results. |
|
|
Medical/Safety: |
|
|
Red Cross trained and certified volunteers to be on-site, at medical station to assist participants with minor first aid injuries and paramedics in emergencies.
Volunteers will be responsible for the setting up, launching, landing and disassembly of safety boats. |
|
|
Regatta Office: |
|
| Volunteers are to provide and distribute registration (entry and camping) confirmations, distribute and sell/process Masters party tickets, provide participants with Regatta information packages, handle mixed event registration up until Friday, assist in weigh-ins. Volunteers will also ensure proper posting of draws and heats. | |
|
Boat Holders: |
|
| Volunteers will be responsible for holding and stabilizing boats at race starting gates. | |
|
Grandstands: |
|
| Volunteers will be responsible for the distribution of programs, ensuring spectators are seated safely, controlling all traffic flow to the awards presentation dock. Volunteers will ensure that all trophies and medals are organized in order of presentation, to be sectioned off in protected area at the bottom of grandstands/end of awards dock. Volunteers will be responsible for the opening and closing of grandstands. | |

Boat Rentals: |
|
| Volunteers will be responsible for the rental boat docking area (launching and landing), the administrative and logistical end of all boat rentals, hot seating, inspecting all equipment pre and post rental. | |
|
Admissions and Parking: |
|
| Volunteers will be responsible for managing parking lots, directing traffic, collecting parking fees, controlling the traffic flow onto the island, into the camping area, through the back gate boat trailer entrance. | |
|
Social Coordination: |
|
| Volunteers will assist with organization and follow through of the opening ceremonies on Thursday night and the Masters party on Saturday night, this includes all aspects of: entertainment, food and beverage, vendors, set-up and clean-up. | |
|
Transportation: |
|
| Volunteers will be responsible for: driving buses from Island to grandstand and back, controlling traffic flow, driving vans from Holiday Inn to Island and back for FISA jury members. | |
|
Timing: |
|
| Volunteers will be responsible for race timing using the FinishLynx System, data entry, photo finish results and other tasks, as required. | |
